React Summit US 2026: Jersey City Conference Guide

React Summit US 2026: Jersey City Conference Guide

Written by Jeffrey Hebert

This November, New Jersey will once again welcome the React developer community. For its fourth edition, React Summit US 2026 will bring together developers, technology companies, and open-source contributors for a hybrid conference centered around one of the most widely used JavaScript libraries.

The event, organized by GitNation, runs November 17–20, with a conference day at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City on November 17. In addition to the face-to-face programming, the remainder will be available online to developers who are not able to attend the event.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a React veteran, a front-end developer sharpening your skills, or an engineering leader evaluating the latest tools.

When and Where Is React Summit US 2026?

The React Summit US will be held November 17–20, 2026. On Tuesday, November 17, there will be a main in-person event at:

Liberty Science Center
222 Jersey City Blvd
Jersey City, NJ 07305

With stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River, the science center is located within Liberty State Park. But this is also a familiar location for the React Summit community. A previous edition of the US conference brought developers to New Jersey, making Jersey City a natural place to gather for an event that attracts attendees from all over the country and abroad.

As a result of the location, Manhattan is also within commuting distance. That gives visitors additional hotel, dining, and transportation options, although staying in New York means extra travel time.

The official React Summit US website and GitNation event page have the latest venue information, tickets, and programming details.

How the Conference Works

This year’s React Summit US takes place in a hybrid format, combining an in-person meeting with online programming.

This year’s main event will take place on Tuesday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. Organizers will also make conference content available to a global remote audience.

On Friday, November 20, there will be another fully online conference. With this arrangement, developers who cannot attend the event can still watch presentations and take part in activities.

GitNation also offers ticket options that combine in-person attendance with remote access and online workshops. For access to more than just the main conference day, the Multipass is worth considering.

Ticket prices, included benefits, and availability can change, so review the official ticket information before purchasing. Don’t assume that a ticket from a previous edition includes the same perks as this year.

Who’s Speaking at React Summit US?

A wide range of people working across the React ecosystem will speak as part of the speaker lineup.

These are some of the names that appear on public listings of attendees and events:

  • Kent C. Dodds: Known for Epic React and his contributions to React education.
  • Ken Wheeler: A familiar name in the JavaScript and React development communities.
  • Tanner Linsley: Creator of several popular open-source projects associated with TanStack.
  • Maurice de Beijer: A developer and educator with experience in modern web technologies.
  • Brad Westfall: A React educator and workshop instructor.
  • Nicolas Carlo
  • Mansi Manhas
  • Kristiyan Velkov
  • Artur Morys-Magiera
  • Fadila Fidina
  • Sachin Mamoru

As part of the announced programming, Expo will also be featured.

It’s likely that the lineup will appeal to developers interested in more than just introductory React tutorials. The broader conference covers the tools, techniques, and architectural decisions that influence how modern React applications are designed, built, and maintained.

Among the potential topics for discussion are application architecture, performance optimization, developer tooling, mobile development with Expo, and newer functionality with React.

The important caveat is that speaker announcements and session assignments can change. Check the official talks and workshops schedule for the most current information rather than treating an older attendee listing as the final program.

Workshops Offer More Hands-On Learning

Not everyone gets what they need from conference presentations. There are times when working through a technical problem with someone who knows the subject inside out can be the most valuable experience.

That’s where the React Summit US workshops come in.

There will be a mix of paid workshops and free online opportunities at GitNation around the main conference. One example in the published program is Modern React Architecture, a Pro workshop led by Brad Westfall scheduled for November 9.

Unlike the main conference, these sessions provide a unique experience. Rather than hearing someone explain a development technique, participants explore concepts and apply them to a specific problem.

Be sure to review the workshop schedule before purchasing a ticket if you are interested in hands-on learning. There are some sessions that require separate registration, and there may be a limit on the number of participants at paid workshops.

You can find the current offerings through the GitNation conference program.

Other Developer Events Happening in Jersey City

React Summit US isn’t the only technology gathering competing for developers’ attention that week.

There are several software development-related events taking place around New York City and the surrounding metro area.

For example, JSNation US 2026 is scheduled for November 16–19. Developers can explore JavaScript, its ecosystem, and the technologies built around it at the JavaScript-focused conference.

Also, the AI Coding Summit (New York Edition) is listed around the same dates, with Liberty Science Center appearing as its venue.

For developers interested in more than one technology area, these events are an interesting opportunity. Attendees might also be interested in JavaScript and AI programming sessions at React Summit.

Don’t assume, however, that all conferences have identical schedules or that one ticket covers everything. Before making a decision, compare the individual event dates, venues, and admission options.

React Summit’s partners and sponsors page also identifies companies involved in the conference, including AG Grid and MUI. Focus Reactive has also appeared in public event listings.

Getting to Liberty Science Center

Attendees from out of town can reach Jersey City fairly easily, but considerations like transportation and lodging take some planning ahead.

Public transportation: Check NJ Transit for current train and bus schedules. Depending on where you’re staying, the PATH system and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail may also be useful options. The Liberty Science Center is accessible via the Liberty State Park Light Rail station, although you will need to walk there.

Driving and parking: If you’re driving, map the route to 222 Jersey City Blvd ahead of time. Check the science center’s current parking information and allow extra time for morning traffic. If you’re coming from across the Hudson or elsewhere in New Jersey, this is especially important.

Staying in New York: Manhattan offers plenty of hotel options, but the commute can add time to an already full conference day. It may be more convenient to stay in Jersey City if you plan to attend networking events or spend time at the venue other than the scheduled presentations.

What to wear: November weather along the Hudson can be chilly, particularly near the waterfront. If you plan to explore Liberty State Park, wear comfortable walking shoes and a jacket.

Is React Summit US 2026 Worth Attending?

The React Summit US is particularly relevant to front-end developers, full-stack engineers, engineering managers, technical leads, and companies developing React applications.

During an in-person event, you can exchange ideas with colleagues, meet speakers, and discuss technical issues with people facing similar challenges.

Additionally, it can be useful for developers when evaluating their current technology stack. By listening to how other teams approach application architecture, performance, state management, and tooling, you can gain insights difficult to obtain alone from documentation.

Of course, traveling to Jersey City isn’t necessary to attend the conference. Using the online programming, it is possible to follow the presentations without booking a hotel or driving a long distance.

For developers wanting a networking experience, November 17 should be their priority. But if you are more interested in technical presentations, you can check out remote options.

Final Thoughts

React Summit US 2026 gives New Jersey another chance to host a major gathering of the React developer community. In addition to an in-person day at Liberty Science Center, additional online programming, hands-on workshops, and a lineup of names from the JavaScript ecosystem, there’s plenty to keep developers engaged.

Also, the conference takes place during a busy week for technology events in Jersey City and New York, making it a great destination for React, JavaScript, and AI-assisted developers.

If you’re considering attending, start with the official React Summit US website. Confirm the schedule, compare ticket options, and plan your transportation before November 17. A bit of preparation can make the difference between spending the day navigating logistics and getting the most out of the conference.
